(12/4/02) Well, I hope you've read the new article about Myles. If not, read it now and then come back. I hope he knows that we all are thinking about him and hoping for the best! It may be a while before we hear anything new from the Mayfield Four... but I for one have confidence that this is just an obstacle for the MF4 boys, and not the end of the music. For now, we have two amazing albums to keep us company. Please stop by the message board and tell us what you think.
(10/23/02) I thought it would be fun to have a "Band of the Week" featured on the front page of this site. In a way, it's an 'homage' to the 'Band of the Week' feature on the Ultimate Band List because that's how I originally found out about the Mayfield Four. This will probably end up being closer to a band of the month feature... since that's closer to how frequently it will change. Maybe I should change the name...(I decided to change it to band of the month)
I plan on featuring bands that I can tie in someway to the Mayfield Four (though I presume at some point I'll run out of bands like that...). The first BotW is Inner Recipe - I was lucky enough to meet their drummer after a Mayfield Four show last year (because he and his wife were wearing MF4 shirts!). I can't get enough of their music or their shows... as can be clearly seen by the shear number of pictures i've taken at their shows.
Perhaps at some point in the future Five Foot Thick will end up as Band of the Week. Myles contributed vocally to their new album Bloodpuddle which will be out on November 1st. I haven't heard it yet but feel free to weigh in if you have. Thanks Beetham for the info.
(10/20/02)Marty posted a message to the yahoo group email list yesterday:
hello we are alive and well,,,,,,,,alive, no im not married (marty) but we
have all been busy catching up on our personal stuff- no new news to report
now other than we are planning a show sometime in the near future (you will
all be the first to know (hopefully a new years show)) ok,,,,,,,hope all of
you are well and safe-------
marty (the merk)
The "married" comment has to do with a rumor that was circulating on the email list...
(10/10/02) I added some pictures I had sitting around on my computer from the Release Party last year to the Second Skin Era photo section. I wish we had some newer photos to share, but these are fun too. I also added some promo shots I didn't have up earlier in that section of Photos.
(9/20/02) Stop by and say 'hi' on the brand-spanking new message board! This board was created by our good friend Julie-Kate at Anti-Industry dot com. Thank you so much JKate! Stop by her site as well.
(8/28/02) While the Mayfield Four continue to work on new material, Alessandro will be touring guitarist with Everclear this fall! Everclear is lucky to have him :)
(7/8/02) This note from Marty to the MF4 yahoo group:

working on new material and have been keeping ourselves busy-----alot has
been happening and we will keep you informed when something of importance
is, does or will happen------no new shows coming up- but when we are

great 4th and are enjoying your summer--
~marty and the 4
(7/1/02) Happy Canada Day to all the Canadian MF4 fans!
Not much to report but word is that the Mayfield Four are still
writing and recording new songs to shop with. Best of luck guys!
(6/21/02) Happy Summer Solstice! There is a new Modwheelmood song up at modwheelmood.com and Zia plays drums on the track. Stop by and download GROW.
(6/12/02) Alessandro's band, Modwheelmood, has finished their video for the song 'Sleep'. It's now online at modwheelmood.com. It is an extremely well done video and a beautiful song.
(5/21/02) Just a bit of news to whet your appetite for new Mayfield Four music. This is third hand, but you get the idea: "I spoke to someone the other day that has been hearing the new M4 demos, and (they) were verrrrrrrrrrrrrry impressed w/ the new songs. Apparently, Myles is perfecting everything to a "T" before playing the new material live." Thanks Kevin.
.(5/9/02) Thank you everyone who voted for the band Caroline's Spine for the JimBeamMusic.com band of the week contest. They won! I had the pleasure of talking to the members of Caroline's Spine last night (at their amazing show in Toledo) and they all told me how much they enjoy Mayfield Four's music and would like to tour with them.
(4/17/02) The Mayfield Four have negotiated their release from their contract with Sony/Epic - they asked to leave and Sony/Epic agreed to let them go. They are now "free agents" and are working up new tracks. This seems like a good way to go for the guys since they will now have the chance to find a label that will support them and help them reach all the people out there who appreciate great music! We fans can help by spreading the word about their music because they're sure to work out something new and better with a label that understands the potential of the Mayfield Four.
(4/10/02) Stop by my new modwheelmood website. Modwheelmood is Alessandro's (MF4's touring guitarist) band. If you haven't listend to any of their music, go to the music section and check it out.
Also, I added a poll to this website today. If you have any suggestions for future polls, feel free to email me, though I won't be putting any 'who's your favorite band member?' or 'who's the cutest?' polls up. Sorry, lol.
(4/7/02) In case you were worried, the Mayfield Four are alive and well! Diana talked to Myles recently and he is hard at work writing new material! Very exciting news indeed! No plans immediately for a tour but we can still hope :) To the fans, Myles said "Hello and thanks for all of your support." Thanks Diana!
(3/7/02) Myles Kennedy guitar solos on two tracks ('faron' and 'make it three') on Mulligan's new CD - Striped-suit:lo-fi (released late last year). They have two tracks up to listen to on their website (really enjoyable tunes) and I just got the album in the mail last night - definitely worth it.
(3/2/02) Update on Modwheelmood songs: There are now three new tracks from Alessandro's band: My Apology, Stop Listening, and Now You Fall. If you haven't signed up at Avantnoise.com yet, you are really missing out!
(2/28/02) Alessandro's band, Modwheelmood (formerly 'Gift?') has a new song online at Avantnoise.com called "Now You Fall". You can check out a 30 second clip of the track. Plus, Zia Uddin plays drums on the song! This is seriously one of the best songs I've heard - i'm completely addicted.
In other MF4 related news - Myles plays guitar on a couple tracks on Mulligan's debut album - I haven't heard those songs yet but the songs they have online to listen to are pretty groovy.
(2/15/02) If you haven't watched the DVD of 'Rockstar' then you probably haven't heard the directors comments about Myles:
(1/23/02) I pulled this off the MF4 BBS today. If
you're in the Spokane area, tune into 94.5 FM tonight at 7pm:
(1/20/02) Hope everyone is enjoying 2002. No big news from the MF4
camp (though check back soon - i have some interesting pictures i'm going
to be posting soon). I did hear a rumor that someone heard a certain band
playing some new tunes in a bar in Spokane...
Rock Star,
the movie that Myles Kennedy is in, comes out on DVD on January 22.
You can order it at cdnow.com
for $13.99. It doesn't appear to be coming out on VHS at this time,
though you'll probably still be able to rent it.
