The Mayfield Four on the Road with Everclear

The Mayfield Four Sophomore Release Second Skin Due In Stores June 26

The Mayfield Four sophomore release Second Skin hits stores June 26 following up the band's acclaimed 1998 debut Fallout. Produced by Peter Collins (Brian Setzer Orchestra, Bon Jovi, Ultraspank) and mixed by Tom Lord-Alge (Rolling Stones, U2, Live), Second Skin is a raw rock and roll record in the tradition of bands like Led Zeppelin and Soundgarden.

The Mayfield Four - singer and guitarist Myles Kennedy, drummer Zia Uddin and bassist Marty Meisner - wrote Second Skin after their 15-month Fallout tour, which saw them sharing stages with Creed and Fuel. Sonically, the album combines the feral (Sick and Wrong, Loose Cannon) with the grandiose (Mars Hotel, Believe) while exploring themes of lost love (Eden)liberation (Lyla)and the emotional carnage in-between.

In other MF4 news, lead singer Myles Kennedy landed a role in Mark Wahlberg's fall movie release, Rock Star. The movie - loosely based on the story of Judas Priest singer Ripper Owens - is about an unknown singer who is picked to be the new lead vocalist for his favorite metal band (the fictitious band includes Zakk Wylde, Jason Bonham, and Jeff Pilson).
