Sexiest Male/Female in Spokane, from www.thelocalplanet.com. Click here for a scan of the actual article. Sexiest Locals Okay, it's easy to get votes as the Sexiest Female in The Local Best if you look like Joan Blackman in Blue Hawaii and you get a lot of exposure on television. And Dawn Picken of KREM-2 News fits the bill. The native of Ashtabula, Ohio, has been reporting in Spokane for two years. And it's easy to get votes as the Sexiest Male if you're a rock star who spends a lot of time on stage crooning for the little lovelies. Not that we'd accuse Mayfield Four frontman Myles Kennedy of crooning or something. Yet Kennedy even appeared in the movie Rock Star. Next stop Viva las Vegas! Picken and Kennedy were runaway winners in the voting for Sexiest Female and Male. But where in the world did all those votes for the "Girls at Brew Bakers" come from? It takes some real Harem Scarem to get noticed while you're making cappuccinos on the sky walk. According to Brew Baker's owner James Carter, it is not his doing. But the people who apply for jobs at his coffee shop tend to be attractive, young college-age women. "We've never had a male application. Period," he says. "I had one just leave who was, admittedly, a knockout. She went on to become a flight attendant." Apparently, some of The Local Planet Weekly readers in the Paulsen Building must have noticed. Carter admits it's good for even though it is not by design. "I don't think it would be the same if I had some guy in overalls named Earl selling coffee," he says. By the way, if you're interested in a sighting of the elusive Helen Paulsen, who lives atop the Paulsen Building, she sometimes stops by Brew Bakers for the fresh banana bread or pumpkin bread. We hope she's not looking for a sexy guy in overalls named Earl. |
